Video Test Engineer – Jobs Via Dice

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual end‑to‑end testing for IP video clients across devices (Roku, smartphones, Apple TV, smart TVs, etc.)
  • Conduct regression testing with development teams during bi‑weekly release cycles
  • Support testing of video delivery systems, including encoders and packagers, to ensure stable playback and synchronization
  • Use tools such as Charles Proxy and Splunk to validate video streaming, playback, and performance metrics
  • Verify functionality such as DASH, HDCP, HCP, and dynamic ad insertion (DAI)
  • Assist in scaling testing operations as new devices and workloads are introduced
  • Log and track defects in test management systems and ensure timely resolution
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth deployment of video platform releases

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in manual QA testing focused on video streaming platforms
  • Proven experience testing across platforms such as Roku, Apple TV, and mobile devices
  • Proficiency with test management tools such as Octane, TestRail, or HP ALM
  • Experience using tools like Charles Proxy and Splunk for troubleshooting and validation
  • Strong understanding of video streaming concepts and protocols (e.g., DASH, HDCP, HCP, ad insertion)
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced, release‑driven environment

Preferred Skills

  • Basic scripting or test automation experience
  • Familiarity with CI/CD environments and release management processes
  • Experience working in Agile development environments

Pay range: $100,000.00 – $110,000.00 (may vary based on experience and location). Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA/FSA, 401(k), life, disability, and paid time off.
