Video Test Engineer – Jobs Via Dice
Responsibilities
Perform manual end‑to‑end testing for IP video clients across devices (Roku, smartphones, Apple TV, smart TVs, etc.)
Conduct regression testing with development teams during bi‑weekly release cycles
Support testing of video delivery systems, including encoders and packagers, to ensure stable playback and synchronization
Use tools such as Charles Proxy and Splunk to validate video streaming, playback, and performance metrics
Verify functionality such as DASH, HDCP, HCP, and dynamic ad insertion (DAI)
Assist in scaling testing operations as new devices and workloads are introduced
Log and track defects in test management systems and ensure timely resolution
Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth deployment of video platform releases
Requirements
3+ years of experience in manual QA testing focused on video streaming platforms
Proven experience testing across platforms such as Roku, Apple TV, and mobile devices
Proficiency with test management tools such as Octane, TestRail, or HP ALM
Experience using tools like Charles Proxy and Splunk for troubleshooting and validation
Strong understanding of video streaming concepts and protocols (e.g., DASH, HDCP, HCP, ad insertion)
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced, release‑driven environment
Preferred Skills
Basic scripting or test automation experience
Familiarity with CI/CD environments and release management processes
Experience working in Agile development environments
Pay range: $100,000.00 – $110,000.00 (may vary based on experience and location). Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA/FSA, 401(k), life, disability, and paid time off.
