TS Cleared Audio-Visual Field Engineer (Top Secret Clearance Required)

Vision Technologies invites a dedicated field engineer to configure, deploy, and commission advanced audio‑visual systems. The role demands advanced troubleshooting, solid AV system knowledge, and professional communication. The position requires active Top Secret Security Clearance and up to 40% out‑of‑state travel.

Responsibilities

  • Design Review – Work with the design team to ensure systems meet design intent, attend scope review meetings, coordinate quality assurance and network documentation, and generate RFIs.
  • In‑House Quality Assurance – Plan and set up a full system mock‑up, test functionality, and document redlines and QA paperwork.
  • Field Commissioning – Inspect installation quality, run through system operation, troubleshoot issues, coordinate with the foreman and AV programmer, and communicate punch list items to the project manager.
  • System Walkthrough and Acceptance – Complete commissioning checklist paperwork, walk through systems with end users or consultants, and document punch list items.
  • Training and Closeout – Provide on‑site end user training, train the end user technical team, review close‑out documentation, and assist project management with project signoff.
  • Teamwork and Leadership – Demonstrate teamwork, accountability, clear communication, and a self‑motivated growth mindset.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • HS Degree required; Technical School Certification or Community College preferred.
  • 5+ years of AV installation, commissioning, and service experience.
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Superior Problem‑Solving Skills; knowledge of Crestron, AMX, Extron, Biamp, and QSC.
  • Experience with AV industry software and platforms; network troubleshooting and deployment experience.
  • Organized and proactive; ability to read and understand design drawings; experience in audio tuning, equalization, and DSP programming.
  • Unified Communications (UC) experience; AVIXA CTS/CTS‑I preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands

  • Must lift 75 pounds and perform work using 6’‑12’ ladders.
