We are seeking a

Senior Content Editor

for the MSN feeds organization. This role focuses on selecting, curating, and elevating content across news, politics, finance, sports, entertainment, and cultural events to resonate with diverse audiences and maintain high editorial standards.

Responsibilities

Lead daily content curation ensuring timely, accurate, and engaging coverage.

Develop content strategies for MSN feed and other new surfaces, balancing innovation with proven practices.

Plan and execute coverage of major live events such as elections, sporting events, and breaking news.

Identify and mitigate risks from outdated, misleading, or low‑value content.

Provide data insights (traffic, engagement, user behavior) to guide editorial placement, selection, and promotional strategies.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, partnerships, and engineering teams to optimize reach, growth, and user experience.

Maintain high editorial quality standards through rigorous editing, fact‑checking, and alignment with brand voice.

Contribute to special editorial projects and seasonal planning, including prototypes and calendar‑based feeds tailored to user interests.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in program management, digital content publishing/management, or a writing/editing role.

5+ years in journalism, editorial strategy, news coverage, and digital content production within a newsroom or high‑traffic personalized feed products.

5+ years of hands‑on experience in content curation and selection with a proven track record of shaping homepage or event coverage.

Demonstrated ability to balance editorial instincts with data‑driven decision‑making.

Proficiency with AI tools for day‑to‑day activities and an openness to evolving technology.

Strong experience leading coverage of high‑stakes events (e.g., U.S. elections, national cultural moments).

Excellent collaborative skills across product, partnerships, and engineering teams.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.

Security Screening Requirements This position requires passing the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Pay and Benefits Base pay range: USD $119,800 – $234,700 per year (U.S.). Specific ranges for San Francisco Bay Area and New York City are USD $158,400 – $258,000 per year.
