Utility Designer – Actalent As a Utility Designer, you will be responsible for designing and drafting utility layouts and specifications for gas and electric distribution systems. You will conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather relevant data, ensuring compliance with utility standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

Design and draft utility layouts and specifications for gas and electric distribution.

Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather relevant data.

Collaborate with project teams to maintain compliance with utility standards and regulations.

Utilize design software to create detailed project drawings.

Use GPS survey equipment to gather and analyze site data for utility design projects.

Assist in the coordination and implementation of utility construction projects.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in drafting and design software, including AutoCAD and Microstation.

Experience with CAD and mechanical distribution design.

Ability to use Trimble GPS for site data collection.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Associate's degree in mechanical, drafting, civil, or equivalent field experience.

Experience with gas and electric utilities is preferred.

Work Environment This role offers a blend of office and field work, providing a dynamic and engaging work environment. It features a small family feel, promoting a positive culture that encourages employees to stay. The position is hybrid if local to Appleton and can be remote for candidates living in major geographic bid areas such as Wausau, Rhinelander, Wausaukee, and Green Bay. Site visits are typically conducted 3-4 times per month, with mileage compensation provided for travel.

Job Type & Location Contract to Hire position based out of Wausau, Wisconsin.

Pay & Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
