Responsibilities

• Write compelling stories and social media content about the impact of biomedical research and medical education.
• Translate technical and scientific information into clear, public-friendly language to showcase faculty, staff, students, and alumni work.
• Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to seek story ideas for print and electronic media.
• Contribute to and proof articles for FSUMED magazine and the college’s annual report.
• Proof and edit public-facing material created by various college departments.
• Write and edit press releases.
• Generate web and social media content.

Qualifications

Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and at least six years of experience. (Post‑high‑school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of news and feature writing and AP style.
• Experience with Adobe and Canva.
• Strong understanding of biomedical sciences and research.
• Ability to write clear, concise copy.
• Strong editing and proofing skills.

Eligibility: Successful completion of a criminal history background check. Attendance of special events as needed. Top candidates will be required to complete a writing exercise.
