Editor (Public Affairs & Communication) Medicine Location: Tallahassee, FL Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Department: College of Medicine, Public Affairs & Communication Responsibilities Write compelling stories and social media content about the impact of biomedical research and medical education. Translate technical and scientific information into clear, public-friendly language to showcase faculty, staff, students, and alumni work. Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to seek story ideas for print and electronic media. Contribute to and proof articles for FSUMED magazine and the college’s annual report. Proof and edit public-facing material created by various college departments. Write and edit press releases. Generate web and social media content. Qualifications Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and at least six years of experience. (Post‑high‑school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.) Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of news and feature writing and AP style. Experience with Adobe and Canva. Strong understanding of biomedical sciences and research. Ability to write clear, concise copy. Strong editing and proofing skills.
