Responsibilities

  • Orient yourself to current applications by reviewing code and collaborating with team members to understand business needs.
  • Identify solutions and designs in collaboration with project team members.
  • Coding programs and applications following DNR standards, best coding and database practices, and security requirements, including integrations with other systems.
  • Provide maintenance and support for applications, troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Structure code to meet standards for efficiency and maintainability.
  • Execute unit and integration testing, documenting scenarios and test results using approved tools and processes.
  • Manage code, version control, and CI/CD using Azure DevOps.
  • Assist with deploying web-based applications, batch jobs, and reports.
  • Keep tasks updated in Azure DevOps, providing input on estimates and timelines.
  • Attend project stand‑up meetings and provide feedback on tasks.
  • Implement user interface changes/bug fixes based on feedback from team, users, and testers.
  • Maintain the backend Oracle database to support application needs, including writing stored procedures and SQL statements.
  • Create clear and up‑to‑date documentation for project configuration and code base.
  • Enter timesheets weekly by deadlines.
  • Provide daily or weekly status reports as requested.
  • Follow DNR standards, security related protocols, and ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.

Qualifications

  • Advanced level application development skillsets within Microsoft .Net Framework.
  • Experience coding in .Net framework, VB.Net, MVC, C#, JavaScript, and Bootstrap.
  • Object‑oriented design experience.
  • Standard security methods applied to custom applications.
  • SSRS/Power BI experience for developing reports.
  • Web API development experience.
  • Angular application development experience.
  • Oracle database development, including stored procedures and SQL.
  • Azure DevOps experience (repositories, version control, deployments).
  • Visual Studio proficiency.
  • Adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Testing experience: scenario identification, test data setup, execution, documentation.
  • Experience with SDLC and IT best practices.
  • Debugging, research, and investigation experience.
  • Agile/Scrum methodology experience across all project phases.
  • Requirement analysis and solution implementation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical documentation writing.
  • Team collaboration and information sharing.
  • IT infrastructure awareness.
  • Accessibility compliance awareness.
  • Project timeline management.

Additional Helpful Skillsets

  • Experience working at DNR or another Government agency.
  • Microsoft Suite experience (SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • GIS experience, especially Esri JavaScript APIs.
