Job Summary Provides structural engineering expertise in projects from the quote stage to final engineering. Typical projects include the design and installation of structural steel platforms, conveyor support structures, elevated walkways, for large distribution centers. Offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and advancement.
Candidates with General Engineering degrees, Architectural Engineering degrees, and Mechanical Engineers are encouraged to apply!
Responsibilities
Plans, schedules, and coordinates engineering work to existing storage equipment to meet customer requirements; may work on phases of a larger project or an entire smaller project
Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements and specifications
Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems
Creates approval, permit, installation and fabrication drawings using Revit & AutoCAD
Obtains material and product quotes from vendors and issues purchase orders
Monitors the project schedule, engineering time, and project budgets
Works with other disciplines on the project team to ensure the engineered solution and all equipment fit within system confines and constraints
Travels up to 10% in North America, mostly within the Continental United States
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Structural, Architectural or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience
Previous material handling or construction experience or previous structural steel detailing experience a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements
Proficient in AutoCAD; and Microsoft Office
Revit experience is a plus
Ability to handle multiple project assignments and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced result-oriented environment
Ability to learn the material handling business and assist across teams and divisions
Ability to interface effectively with internal and external customers, vendors, consulting engineers, architects, and installers
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
Team-oriented and collaborative
Self-motivated and detail-oriented
Ability to learn new technology
