Position Overview
HNTB is seeking a dynamic, collaborative and success‑oriented Marketing Team Leader for its West Division Marketing Team. The role will collaborate with pursuit teams to develop compelling, winning proposals and presentations, supervise a small team of marketing specialists, and drive HNTB’s marketing strategy across Los Angeles, San Diego, and Santa Ana.
What You’ll Do
Lead and mentor a small team of marketing specialists, assigning daily tasks and fostering professional development.
Write and lead qualification packages, proposals, and other delivery materials for complex pursuits.
Collaborate with technical staff to review, edit, and ensure clarity, compliance, and key messaging.
Develop pursuit strategies, provide business intelligence on clients, competitors, and HNTB.
Organize and facilitate pursuit strategy meetings.
Prepare materials for internal and external client meetings and support client service teams.
Lead training and education for new hires and ongoing skill development.
Contribute to recruitment, hiring, performance reviews, and succession planning for marketing staff.
Coordinate schedules, approve timecards, and aid in establishing employee objectives.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field with six (6) years of relevant experience.
Or, in lieu of a degree, at least ten (10) years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in transportation infrastructure marketing.
Quality assurance and control of marketing materials and technical documents.
Prior supervisory or team‑leadership role.
Strong mentorship and relationship‑building skills.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) and Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with CRM platforms.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Strong grammar, punctuation, and business writing skills.
Ability to lead large, diverse teams toward positive outcomes.
Knowledge of the AEC industry, terminology, and definitions is highly desired.
Locations Los Angeles, CA (Figueroa Street); San Diego, CA; Santa Ana, CA (Irvine).
Compensation Los Angeles & Orange County: $107,697.79 – $168,450.39 (est. based on posting time). San Diego, Sacramento, and Inland Empire: $103,015.28 – $161,126.45 (est. based on posting time).
