Summary Barr is seeking a mechanical technician/designer to work on mechanical engineering projects involving data collection, planning, problem solving, design, and construction assistance. The person in this position will collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to provide computer-aided drafting using AutoCAD, CADWorx, and other drafting software on a Windows platform. Assignments include creating, updating, and revising drawings of mechanical and miscellaneous systems, with occasional site visits to gather information. Projects may involve designing pumping and piping systems, industrial ventilation, equipment, conveyor systems, building systems, and more. Assistance with structural, electrical, or civil design may also be required. Minimum Qualifications Two-year technical certificate or relevant experience/coursework Proficiency in AutoCAD Strong communication and interpersonal skills Problem-solving skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and in teams Task management skills Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship Preferred Qualifications Understanding of mechanical systems in industrial settings Proficiency in additional drafting software (CADWorx, Revit, Solidworks, etc.) Knowledge of industrial environments and disciplines This position offers a hybrid work arrangement based out of Minneapolis, MN. Compensation Hourly range: $21.10–$30.00. Non-exempt under FLSA. Compensation varies based on experience and skills. Potential for bonuses. Barr distributes profits via bonuses and ESOP.
