Supervisor, Distribution Design
to join our team at K&A Engineering in
Oak Brook, IL . You will work on exciting and challenging projects that impact the energy and utility sectors, in a dynamic, people-focused team where your expertise, ideas, and contributions are valued. Role Responsibilities
Provide leadership to the distribution design engineering team. Maintain expert knowledge of electrical power distribution design in overhead and underground utility projects. Provide technical leadership on complex projects or processes with wide business impact. Manage the design and work process among customers, contractors, utilities, and others involved in the process. Review field notes and designs for quality and accuracy; collaborate with Engineers, Field Engineering Representatives, construction supervisors, and field personnel to resolve issues. Provide guidance and support to develop a growing team through training and growth opportunities. Directly manage assigned projects following Client and corporate procedures; responsible for overall project performance. Identify and direct project teams, coordinating all resources and ensuring team members understand their responsibilities and lead tasks to completion. Lead the project delivery process from initiation through close out, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Track project updates and metrics; report to stakeholders and ensure compliance with procedures. Own QA/QC processes and execution to prioritize safety. Promote a culture of accountability and timely delivery while maintaining quality across the team. What We’re Looking For
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent industry experience will be considered. 5+ years of experience in distribution power delivery; minimum 3+ years of leading a team. Knowledge of project management processes and utilities operations. Prior experience with Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) is a plus. Proficiency with financial analysis tools in a utility setting. Excellent leadership and organizational skills; ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure. Ability to collaborate across departments; strong verbal and written communication skills. Compensation and Benefits
