Overview
Design Coordinator/Project Specialist - Electric Distribution role at ENTRUST Solutions Group. We specialize in planning and upgrading electric distribution systems for power producers, utilities, commercial and industrial facilities, and municipalities. Our work includes distribution planning analysis tools, substation and feeder design, voltage control, grid modernization, capacity expansion, and project delivery to enhance system reliability. We also provide inspections and permitting before commissioning, with reporting and documentation supported by ENTRUST geospatial and data analytics tools. Responsibilities
Perform quality control (QC) for multiple utilities across pre- and post-construction phases. Apply technical design expertise to ensure projects meet specifications and client design requirements. Lead small to medium or multi-discipline projects; guide Design Engineers and Design Technicians in detailed technical design work. Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand design elements and project nuances. Report to the Project Manager on scope, cost, schedule, and quality challenges; interact independently with clients and assist with proposals and business development discussions. Evaluate design personnel, assign tasks, review vendor drawings, and perform independent engineering reviews of simpler projects. Provide feedback on process and design improvements; ensure adherence to the Quality Review Tracking process and self-check work before submission; participate in peer and QC reviews. Support integration of AI tools and digital transformation initiatives with guidance from the Digital Transformation Team. Required Qualifications
5-8 years of Distribution Design experience. Experience with Distribution Engineering, Utility Engineering, or Civil design/construction (e.g., roadway design, water/wastewater, electrical distribution, telecom, duct packages, HDD, flood mapping) including understanding plan and profile drawings and utility rights within ROW or adjacent easements. Experience designing, drafting, or analyzing plan and profile drawings for utility construction projects. Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience with ComEd distribution design. Associate's of Applied Science (AAS) in Design and Drafting Technology. Experience with Utility Engineering and design of electrical, water, wastewater, or other municipal/utility sites; facility design, utility relocations, or related work. Experience with Civil Right-of-Way analysis or design (e.g., roadway design, land development). Experience with electrical distribution design or construction (overhead/underground circuits, duct packages). Who We Are

The base salary for this position ranges from $75,000 to $100,000 annually, with the final amount influenced by location, internal equity, skills, experience, and training.
