Position Summary The Director of Systems Design and Administration provides strategic leadership in the design, development, integration, and management of IFPTI’s information and operational systems. This position ensures that all digital infrastructure—including the Learning Management System (LMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform, databases, and cloud environments—operates efficiently, securely, and in alignment with organizational goals. The Director of Systems leads the development and maintenance of systems that support IFPTI’s programs, including large‑scale initiatives such as the Regulatory and Laboratory Training System (RLTS), ensuring interoperability, scalability, and sustainability across platforms. This role collaborates across divisions to enhance data‑driven decision‑making, workflow automation, and technology‑enabled performance within the Operations Division.
Key Responsibilities Systems Leadership and Strategy
Provide strategic direction for the planning, development, and management of enterprise systems and digital infrastructure.
Develop and maintain a systems roadmap aligned with IFPTI’s mission, growth strategy, and operational needs.
Identify emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve organizational efficiency, data integrity, and system interoperability.
Ensure compliance with information security, privacy, and data management policies.
Systems Integration and Administration
Oversee the integration of core systems, including LMS, CRM, and data management platforms.
Lead the design and implementation of systems that support IFPTI programs such as the RLTS, ensuring high performance, accessibility, and reliability.
Manage system administration, access controls, and performance optimization.
Collaborate with program and technology teams to ensure data accuracy, functionality, and user accessibility.
Ensure seamless interoperability between internal and partner systems to support IFPTI’s regulatory and learning network initiatives.
Data Governance and Reporting
Establish data governance protocols and ensure compliance with organizational standards and federal requirements.
Develop reporting and analytics capabilities that provide actionable insights to leadership and program teams.
Support the collection, management, and visualization of key performance indicators across IFPTI divisions.
Project Management and Implementation
Lead system implementation projects from design through deployment and evaluation.
Manage timelines, budgets, and resources for technology initiatives.
Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and consultants to ensure timely delivery and alignment with system requirements.
Document system processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Team Leadership and Collaboration
Supervise IT, database, and system administration personnel within the Operations Division.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all system‑related functions.
Provide professional development, mentorship, and performance oversight for technical staff.
Collaborate with other directors and executive leadership to ensure systems support strategic and programmatic objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems management, IT infrastructure, or enterprise platform integration.
Proven success leading multi‑system environments, preferably within nonprofit, education, or government organizations.
Strong understanding of database architecture, data governance, cybersecurity, and cloud‑based environments.
Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining LMS, CRM, and data management systems.
Experience in systems development supporting large‑scale learning or regulatory programs.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to translate technical issues for non‑technical audiences.
Preferred Skills
Experience in a regulated or competency‑based training environment.
Familiarity with platforms such as Absorb, Salesforce, Power BI, Moodle, or Canvas.
Experience with APIs, data integration tools, and workflow automation.
Understanding of IT compliance frameworks, cybersecurity best practices, and cloud‑based service management.
Commitment to collaborative problem‑solving and mission‑driven technology management.
Additional Information Physical Factors/Working Conditions Work is generally performed virtually with standard office equipment available. Employee will need to provide a dedicated private workspace including high‑speed internet. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing, walking, and light lifting. Exposure to a wide range of travel conditions (walking, lifting, driving, riding in vehicles, hotel stays, weather conditions).
