Under general supervision of the Director of Systems Analysis and Design, (Computer Systems Manager, NM-1), with wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment, the Computer Associate (Software) II functions as a Systems Design Analyst responsible for analysis, design, testing, and release of custom applications and reports supporting agency initiatives. Responsibilities include meeting with business units to document requirements, preparing program specifications, mockups, process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria, executing systems tests, and documenting results and defects. The Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) is recruiting one (1) Computer Associate SW II who will: Develop and prepare business and functional requirement documentation, user stories, workflows, GUI interfaces, and reports for new and existing applications, ensuring adherence to industry, HRA, and NYS OTDA standards. Maintain quality control over these documents and log them in the agency knowledge repository. Coordinate testing and implementation plans, prepare queries, user manuals, and guides to support staff, develop detailed acceptance criteria and test scripts, thoroughly test new applications, document results, identify defects, and perform quality checks before release. Coordinate User Acceptance Testing and collaborate with development teams for corrections or enhancements. Manage projects throughout their lifecycle, including collaboration with analysts, developers, training, and business users. Ensure successful implementation and communicate progress and issues timely. Gather requirements for reports, programs, and macros, verify report data, and deliver reports within deadlines. Use Excel functions and Pivot tables for data validation. Facilitate Joint Application Design sessions, gather and analyze business requirements, prepare proposals, and document meeting minutes. Translate requirements into testable conditions, assess options, and present solutions to stakeholders. Serve as liaison between business and development teams, translating business needs into technical specifications. Conduct training and ensure scope changes are reviewed and documented. Report project status regularly and escalate issues as needed. Work Location: 150 Greenwich Street, New York NY 10007 Hours/Schedule: 9am to 5pm on a Flex Schedule Minimum Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree with 24 semester credits in computer science or related field and one year of full-time experience in systems development, analysis, programming, or support; or High school diploma or equivalent with five years of relevant full-time experience; or Equivalent education and experience as specified, with at least one year of relevant experience. Preferred Skills include certifications like CAST, CSTE, and experience in Business Analytics, BAM, and BNA. This position is open to qualified persons with a disability under the 55-a Program.
