We are looking for a Civil Designer to support site, roadway, and railroad planning and documentation, and to coordinate with other disciplines to ensure accurate, complete designs. What You’ll Be Doing

Draft site plans, roadway plans, and railroad plans, including site dimensions, utility plans, grading & erosion control plans, drainage areas, civil details, and other sketches as directed by the Engineer. Check drawings and coordinate with other discipline drawings as they impact documentation. Designers are expected to observe professional ethics in their association with others including fellow employees, clients, and vendors Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from the Engineer Review project scope of work and notify project management of any perceived changes in scope that may appear during the design phase Review design input and communicate any ambiguous, incomplete, or conflicting information to the supplier of the input for resolution Review design output to verify it meets design input and standard industry practices Track and log all design decisions Perform work related to design changes after validated documents are issued and notify project management of any perceived changes in scope resulting from the change Conform to Jedson Engineering Inc., drafting and quality standards Your Ideal Background

A high level of competency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required. The ability to create, modify, reference and plot drawings to Jedson and/or client standards is key to this position. An associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and 5 to 7+ years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to review survey data from multiple sources, utilizing Civil 3D Grading, Corridor and Rail design tools Ability to coordinate scope hand-offs between other disciplines Ability to communicate Civil 3D design and scope through Navisworks for underground piping, roadway/rail designs, and 3D grading models Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of professionals and all aspects of the industrial design process including but not limited to process engineers, electrical and instrumentation engineers, architects, etc. Seniority level
