The WordPress Developer position exists to design, build, and maintain high-quality WordPress websites that deliver exceptional user experiences while seamlessly integrating with our business systems and CRM platform. This role bridges the gap between creative design and technical implementation, translating visual concepts and business requirements into functional, responsive websites using modern development practices. By maintaining site quality, troubleshooting technical challenges, and staying current with WordPress ecosystem developments, this position plays a critical role in supporting our digital presence with the public and service to constituents.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities Designs, develops, and maintains responsive WordPress websites using custom themes, custom fields, page builders (Elementor, etc.), and best practices for performance and accessibility

Builds fully functioning WordPress pages and templates from wireframes or mockups, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and UX best practices

Writes clean, maintainable code in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to implement custom functionality, interactive features, and pages with stable, consistent rendering

Configures and tests WordPress core and plugin updates to meet project requirements, troubleshooting conflicts and compatibility issues

Builds, configures, and maintains webforms across multiple sites, integrating with CRM platforms such as Salesforce to ensure accurate data capture and seamless lead syncing

Implements conditional display logic and content personalization based on user data, browsing behavior, and authentication status

Configures and maintains user authentication systems, including member login portals, single sign-on (SSO), and role-based access controls

Processes requests for webpage redirects, QR code creation, improvements in team productivity tools and other technical web management tasks

Conducts thorough quality assurance through cross-browser cross-device testing, and periodic review of web pages, correcting issues or delegating to appropriate stakeholders

Manages code repositories using Git, including branching, merging, and maintaining version control best practices

Optimizes websites for speed, and monitors server performance and error logs, troubleshooting errors, implementing caching, and performing enhancements

Provides subject matter expertise and administration support for digital toolsets (WordPress, form tools, CRM platforms, etc.), researching and recommending tools and processes to enhance site reliability, functionality, and usefulness

Creates documentation, training curriculum, and training materials for webpage building and troubleshooting procedures to support team members and ministry stakeholders

Supports digital stakeholders with varying levels of technical competence, escalating complex issues to appropriate teams (Digital Solutions, third-party developers, etc.) as needed

Stays current with WordPress updates, emerging technologies, security best practices, and industry trends, providing recommendations to management on editorial policy, UX, site design, and toolset selection

Knowledge/Experience Bachelor’s degree in digital media, computer science, marketing, or related field 3-5 years of experience with digital content management, particularly WordPress Expert knowledge of WordPress preferably using WordPress Elementor and add-ons

Knowledge of and experience in digital toolsets, including enterprise-level content management systems, community software, etc. Knowledge of Best Practice Standards and Accessibility Experience managing projects, timeframes, and planning, etc. Above average knowledge and understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other Web concepts

Salesforce or other CRM knowledge preferred General marketing experience helpful

Pay Range $72,800 to $85,280/yr
