Overview
Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented, customer service-focused Imaging Coordinator II - Authorization & Verification Specialist to join our Mammography Imaging Team. The Imaging Coordinator - Authorization & Verification Specialist is responsible for verifying patient insurance and performing clerical duties to support the billing and patient flow, including verification of benefits, copays, and coordination with front desk staff. Responsibilities
Verify patient insurance benefits (deductibles, in-network/out-of-network benefits, copays) with primary and secondary insurers. Notify front desk and staff of non-reimbursable benefits. Answer and route calls; assist with smooth patient flow through required services. Obtain and prepare copies of documentation to facilitate billing and collections. Process co-payments and payments accurately; maintain daily log of patient payments as needed. Ensure accurate data entry in the automated admitting/registration system; prepare preregistration packets. Update medical records for returning patients; assist with closing procedures. Maintain composure under stress and demonstrate patience, tact, stamina, and endurance. Qualifications and Preferred Experience
High school diploma required. CPR certification within 60 days of employment. Ability to relate and work effectively with others. Demonstrated verbal, written English, and public speaking ability. Willingness to participate in goal-setting and professional advancement. Demonstrated computer skills in word processing, databases, and other computer functions. Previous experience with healthcare scheduling and insurance knowledge required. About Northwest Specialty Hospital
