Overview
Senior Menswear Designer role for a leading contemporary fashion brand. This role oversees the full design process from concept to execution and works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure collections align with brand vision and market trends. Responsibilities
Develop and articulate the creative vision for menswear collections, defining design direction in collaboration with leadership. Lead the seasonal design process, including research, concept development, and product innovation. Interpret seasonal direction into innovative, commercial designs. Analyze past performance of products to inform future designs and develop cohesive seasonal groups. Oversee material sourcing and selection to support collection growth. Collaborate with merchandising, production, and marketing teams to align on product strategy and go-to-market plans. Design Process Contribution
Prototyping & Development: Propose drapes, 3D swatches, fabric manipulations, finishing trials, thread color trials, and denim wash trials. Color & Print Design: Create color-ups, print placement layouts, CAD-focused embroidery trials, and development files. Seasonal Boards: Maintain seasonal inspiration boards, sketches, print concepts, and trials; communicate updates effectively across teams. Collaboration & Communication
Partner with product development, technical design, and in-house atelier to ensure design specifications are met. Maintain seamless communication with sales, marketing, and production teams to convey design intent. Participate in prototype and sample fittings, ensuring garment proportions, details, and fit are accurate. Manage lookbook and seasonal shoot preparation for menswear and complementary categories. Qualifications
BA/BFA in Fashion Design or equivalent experience. Minimum 6 years experience in menswear design. Deep materials expertise, including fabric & trim sourcing, fabric development, knitwear, and denim washes. Advanced sketching skills (Procreate + CAD), tech-ready flats, and strong understanding of garment construction. Experience with proto/SMS fittings and revision tracking. Mastery of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Procreate. Ability to create to-scale embroideries/placement prints, color-ups, and production-ready layouts. Strong cross-functional partnership skills with Merchandising and PD/Production teams. Full end-to-end seasonal ownership: concept through market; cohesive capsule development aligned with brand DNA. Leadership in creative direction: seasonal concepts, color stories, print narratives, and group architecture. Calendar discipline and project management across multiple capsules. Portfolio demonstrating original menswear concepts, technical depth, and delivered products. CLO 3D experience (draping, 3D swatches, fabric simulations) is a plus. Pattern making/garment-construction literacy is a plus. Established vendor/mill network and willingness to travel for mills, trade shows, and factories is a plus. Benefits
