Faculty The Department of English at Jacksonville State University invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in Creative Writing, with a specialization in Fiction and a secondary specialization in Creative Nonfiction, to begin Fall 2026. Responsibilities
• Teach four courses per semester in creative writing, composition, and literature at the undergraduate and graduate levels. • Conduct scholarly and creative research sufficient for tenure and advancement. • Engage in appropriate department, school, and university service. Qualifications
Ph.D. or MFA in Creative Writing with an emphasis in fiction writing required by August 2026. Preference may be given to candidates with a Ph.D. Ability to teach composition and evidence of good teaching and scholarly potential, including poetry publications, are also required.
