Job Summary
An innovative leader responsible for the La‑Z‑Boy In‑Home Design program, translating client needs into actionable design concepts, conducting in‑home consultations, and empowering sales teams with design expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Promote the In‑Home Design program by presenting customized portfolio presentations to meet or surpass store and individual sales goals.
Achieve annual operating benchmarks and personal objectives.
Schedule and conduct in‑home consultations to understand clients’ unique needs and vision.
Partner with Store and Sales Managers to coach, train, and support sales teams, improving design culture, product knowledge, and sales techniques.
Create design concepts and digital presentations with finish selections, furnishings, and decor that translate the client’s lifestyle, taste, and budget into actionable recommendations.
Ensure proper execution of all existing and new systems and administrative procedures, supporting weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings and special projects.
Uphold brand visual standards in the store, ensuring cleanliness in employee and customer areas.
Scope & Impact This position holds significant influence over the store’s financial health, team morale, operational efficiency, and overall customer experience and reputation in the community. It reports to the Store Manager of the assigned location with indirect influence on the sales team.
Minimum Requirements
Education: bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Experience: 2‑3 years in sales or interior design with a residential emphasis.
Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, CAD programs, financial understanding, adept interpersonal communication, analytical abilities, goal orientation, team management, and customer service.
Other: Ability to work the schedule dictated by business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Requirements
Design certification.
Advanced interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, business acumen, entrepreneurial spirit, and experience building effective relationships.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, and stoop.
Subject to inside environmental conditions.
Must pass background and drug screen.
Compensation Range Total Compensation Range: $26,000 – $90,000. Post‑Training Base Pay: $26,000 per year. Commission & Bonus: Earn more with uncapped commission on written sales – 3.5% on La‑Z‑Boy Design Sales and 2% on other sales. Monthly bonus opportunity: $0 – $2,000 based on meeting specific individual sales goals.
