The Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) Senior Substation Designer leads design efforts for complex substation projects, applying advanced engineering principles and Autodesk Inventor (SDS) expertise. Key Responsibilities
Apply engineering standards, codes, and Black & Veatch policies to develop and review design deliverables. Perform design calculations, material quantity estimates, and record detailed material specifications. Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, supporting project coordination and client focus. Maintain drawing control and historical records, ensuring compliance with project schedules and requirements. Preferred Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Drafting, Engineering Design, or related technology. 8‑11 years of progressive experience in substation design, AutoDesk Inventor (SDS), and physical substation design (AIS and/or GIS). Advanced knowledge of engineering standards, document control, and project management practices. Strong problem‑solving, communication, and team mentoring skills. Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 11 years of related work experience and advanced expertise in AutoDesk Inventor (SDS) and physical substation design (AIS and/or GIS). Benefits
