Overview
Senior CAD Designer
– Actalent – Orlando, FL. Join a collaborative team of civil engineers to plan and design civil engineering projects for federal and private land development. This is a permanent, full‑time position with office‑based work and occasional travel to client meetings and site visits. Responsibilities
Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D to prepare planning and design documents for civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects in collaboration with Project Engineers. Assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data through reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs. Conduct zoning and feasibility assessments for development projects. Perform field inspection services as needed. Write and review draft reports, including feasibility studies, stormwater management reports, technical specifications, and utility reports. Interact professionally with client and subcontractor representatives in collaboration with a supervisor. Perform other duties as requested. Essential Skills
Proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD. Permitting and site/civil design experience. 3+ years of experience in site/civil design, including site planning, grading, stormwater management, drainage, and soil erosion. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate degree in Engineering Sciences or enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program with a focus on Civil Engineering, or proven equivalent knowledge. Extensive AutoCAD/Civil 3D training. Familiarity with local, state, and federal land use permitting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license in good standing. Work Environment
Primarily office‑based with flexibility, located in Orlando (Lake Nona). Occasional travel for client meetings and site visits is required. Job Type & Location
Permanent position based out of Orlando, Florida. Pay and Benefits
Pay range: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year. Medical Insurance – doctor visits, emergency care, surgeries, and preventive services. Dental Insurance – cleanings, exams, X‑rays, and procedures.
