Job Overview Perform detailed design work including the preparation of drawings, specifications, and estimates for review and approval by the responsible engineer. This entry level distribution designer role is based out of Ceredo, West Virginia.
Responsibilities Possess a thorough knowledge of practices and procedures in technical areas such as Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, Protective Relaying, Transmission Design, Substation Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Distribution Engineering, Surveying, GIS and Mapping, and CADD.
Prepare manual or computer-assisted design and construction drawings with precision and minimal errors.
Perform design services requiring a full understanding of drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
Take a role in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions.
Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations.
Coordinate equipment deliveries and design development to meet project schedules.
Acquire on-site field data to accomplish design objectives or to monitor and evaluate equipment performance.
Essential Skills Proficiency in drafting, field engineering, GIS, distribution engineering, civil engineering, CAD, substation design, transmission design, mechanical design, surveying, protective relaying, and instrumentation controls.
Additional Skills & Qualifications An Associate Degree or equivalent in a technical field is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required for Distribution Designer Associate.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required for Distribution Designer II.
At least one year of satisfactory experience as a Designer I for Distribution Designer II.
Demonstrated leadership and technical capability to perform job duties and responsibilities.
Work Environment Work is primarily in an office setting with the opportunity for flexible hours once trained. Potential to work from home two days a week, based on training and discretion.
Job Type & Location This position is based out of Ceredo, West Virginia.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
