The Electrical Designer is responsible for independently supporting Engineers and the Engineering Manager by preparing detailed electrical drawings and equipment Bills of Materials (BOM) in accordance with customer specifications. This role involves assisting service personnel in troubleshooting by simulating issues through technical drawings. The Electrical Designer is expected to handle basic Engineering Work Requests while adhering to departmental Work Instructions and Engineering Standards. Additionally, the role includes reviewing and approving designs, facilitating interface communication, and ensuring that the electrical scope of work for Hyperscale Data Center Modules meets customer expectations and complies with industry standards for accuracy, reliability, efficiency, and safety. Problem-solving is a key aspect of the position, requiring the application of technical expertise and analytical thinking to identify and implement effective solutions based on factual data. Responsibilities: Create and verify drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) in accordance with customer specifications.

Independently prepare bulk Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and detailed BOMs without supervision.

Ensure all drawings comply with engineering and QA/QC standards.

Develop layout drawings to illustrate proposed equipment configurations and functionality.

Produce a wide range of electrical deliverables, including:

Cable routing diagrams

Panel drawings and layouts

Electrical schematics and single-line diagrams

Interconnect and loop diagrams

Cable schedules

Lighting and instrument location plans

Earthing details

I/O schedules and termination hook-ups

Simulate and visualize technical problems through drawings to assist in troubleshooting.

Prepare sequence drawings and procedures for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).

Compile installation procedures for customer submission.

Supervise outsourced design work performed by third-party engineering firms.

Review vendor data and drawings to ensure compliance with client specifications and standards.

Generate reports from design models and provide necessary design information to internal teams, clients, and third parties.

Contribute to process improvement by providing “lessons learned” feedback.

Apply insights from past projects to enhance design tools, templates, and procedures.

Education: The Designer should hold a technical certification or diploma in a relevant design discipline (e.g., electrical design, drafting, or engineering technology). Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working on electrical scopes within Hyperscale Data Center Modules or a similar industrial environment.

Proven ability to produce clear and accurate drawings and sketches to communicate design concepts.

Experience in high-density data centers and hyperscale infrastructure.

Solid understanding of the purpose and function of electrical systems in facility environments.

Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations, including but not limited to:

IEC – International Electrotechnical Commission

IBC – International Building Code

OSHA – Occupational Safety and Health Administration

NEC – National Electric Code

NFPA – National Fire Protection Association

Extensive experience utilizing design and modeling tools such as:

AutoCAD

SolidWorks

Navisworks Manager / Freedom

Autodesk Revit

Autodesk BIM 360

Mastery knowledge and proficiency in:

Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)

PDF Editor (Adobe, Foxit, or other equivalent)

Solid Works

Autodesk AutoCAD

Navisworks Manager / Freedom

Operational knowledge in:

SAP (ERP Tool w/ Engineering Modules and Transactions)

Autodesk Revit

Autodesk BIM 360
