About Billington Cybersecurity Since 2010, senior government officials and industry partners have convened through Billington CyberSecurity educational events to enhance the cybersecurity of the United States and our allied partners. The annual Billington CyberSecurity Summit, now in its 16th year and drawing 2500+ attendees, brings together leaders and cybersecurity experts from the White House, intelligence agencies, the military, allied nations, industry and academia to share strategies, challenges, tools and practices. The State & Local CyberSecurity Summit serves a similar role for U.S. state, municipal, regional and tribal leaders. Billington events drive ongoing engagement and community across the cyber security sector and are covered by major media outlets. The Role Reporting to the President of Billington CyberSecurity, the Vice President of Sales role is an exciting opportunity to lead a growing sales team and participate in the development and execution of growth strategies. You will establish and nurture relationships with top clients, map new market opportunities, develop sponsorship offerings, and expand Billington’s role as a convener of senior cyber leaders across government and industry. About You This is a senior-level business relationship leadership role for someone who wants to grow an organization and lead a fast-growing, entrepreneurial team. Domestic and occasional international travel is required, up to 10 times per year. Key Responsibilities Strategic Sales Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve aggressive revenue targets; work with Billington’s president, chairman and key team members to identify and pursue new business opportunities serving the government cybersecurity sector; build and maintain relationships with C-suite executives, marketing leads, and senior decision-makers at leading technology companies and cybersecurity organizations; drive sales of event sponsorships and full-year, client-specific thought leadership and strategic engagement programs Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing sales team; establish clear performance metrics and accountability frameworks; ensure both individual and team sales targets are met; foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement; recruit top sales talent as the organization scales Strategic Business Planning: Partner with executive leadership to shape company strategy and growth initiatives, including pricing strategy and package development; provide accurate sales forecasting and pipeline analysis; identify market trends and competitive dynamics to inform business decisions; cultivate long-term partnerships with key sponsors and partners; ensure exceptional account management, client satisfaction and high renewal rates; serve as a trusted advisor to clients on their cybersecurity marketing and thought leadership objectives Required Qualifications 10+ years of strategic B2G or B2B sales experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role Deep knowledge of the public sector cybersecurity market, including federal, state, and local government dynamics Proven track record of selling event sponsorships, conferences, and thought leadership programs Demonstrated success in consistently meeting or exceeding multi-million dollar revenue targets Sales team management experience with a history of building and developing high-performing teams Exceptional strategic thinking and business planning capabilities Proven relationship-building skills with C-level executives in the public sector market Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities Proven pipeline management proficiency using Salesforce, Hubspot or similar sales CRM platforms What Sets You Apart Strong existing relationships within the government cybersecurity community Experience in the events, media, or B2B services industry focusing on public sector A proven talent for driving complex, consultative sales cycles Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Track record of innovation in sales strategy and execution What We Offer Competitive base salary plus aggressive commission structure Comprehensive benefits package Opportunity to shape the direction of a market-leading organization Access to the most influential leaders in government cybersecurity Dynamic, mission-driven team environment Professional development and growth opportunities CloserStill Media reserves the right to request a DBS or credit check should the role require it.
