Join Our Team as a Design Consultant at Bassett Furniture Industries, Inc. Our Bassett Design Consultants are responsible for building meaningful and long-term customer relationships. They possess comprehensive knowledge of furniture construction and design trends, utilizing 'relationship selling' techniques through interior design consultations and makeovers to maximize sales opportunities. Our design consultants enjoy the design process! Opportunity Full-time schedule with a starting hourly rate of $22.00, ranging from $22.00 to $26.00/hour Additional commission compensation, including for In-Home Design Consulting Comprehensive benefits package Consistent work schedule with 3 days off every other week Store hours: Sunday through Saturday, 11 am - 6 pm Friendly, positive work environment with supportive management Average monthly sales of $70,000, resulting in an annual income of approximately $67,000 Job Qualifications Passion for design and fashion Drive to meet or exceed sales goals Ability to discern and coordinate colors and textures for trendy looks Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Friendly, outgoing personality Positive outlook Proficiency with computers and experience in space planning Desire to learn Sales experience Professionalism and career-mindedness Ability to listen and translate customer preferences into design solutions Job Requirements Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays Interest in a commissioned sales environment Supportive team player Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail setting Capability to drive to customer residences and businesses for makeovers Skills in creating, presenting, and selling product and design solutions Engaging customers to understand their tastes, lifestyles, and budgets Training & Benefits Our training program helps associates develop product knowledge, sales techniques, and design skills, building a loyal client base.
