Talascend is currently seeking a Civil Designer for a direct hire opportunity with our client located in The Woodlands, TX. OVERVIEW: Our client is seeking a qualified and innovativeCivil Designerat The Woodlands, Texas location to create and prepare detailed engineering drawings to be used in construction projects such as new alignment and reconstruction of underground distribution circuits, vaults, and manholes. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Under supervision, prepare construction plans, plan and profiles, site exhibits, and quantity take-offs. Drafting CAD support for assigned projects. Attend internal and external project meetings. Review submittals and contractor requests for information. Perform on-site inspections during construction and coordinate design requirements with contractors. Other duties as assigned and needed. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: One-year CAD certificate from a college or technical school, or equivalent combination of training and experience. At least 5 years of CAD design experience. High proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, or capability/desire to learn to use MicroStation. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D strongly preferred. Strong understanding of layering standards and proficiency of use Full range of visual depth perception and the ability to distinguish colors; and Valid Driver's License, acceptable driving record, and ability to occasionally travel overnight.
