Job Title Senior Technical Writer/Editor Location Category Contracts Support Job Type Full-Time Job Description The Senior Technical Writer/Editor is responsible for developing, editing, and maintaining high-quality technical documentation, including manuals, bulletins, and illustrated parts breakdowns, in compliance with customer and military standards. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, as well as experience working with technical drawings and configuration-controlled data. The Senior Technical Writer/Editor will contribute to quality assurance processes, support document validation efforts, and mentor junior writers as needed. **The position is contingent upon contract award** Duties and Responsibilities: Interpret electrical and mechanical drawings to create accurate, detailed maintenance and repair documentation Prepare structured technical documents, including technical manuals (e.g., TM86-01X), technical bulletins, and illustrated parts breakdowns, in accordance with contract standards and applicable MIL-STDs Participate in document reviews, validations, and verifications with customers and internal teams Ensure compliance with configuration management (CM) principles and document control procedures Lead or mentor junior technical writers, offering guidance and quality oversight Collaborate with engineering, logistics, and program management teams to gather and clarify technical information Monitor and contribute to continuous improvement of Quality Management System (QMS) processes Provide support during audits or inspections related to documentation quality or compliance Job Requirements Qualifications Associates degree may substitute for 1 year of experience Minimum 5 years of experience in aviation-related technical writing or quality role Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience developing or maintaining documentation under quality and configuration management systems Effective written and verbal communication skills QMS certifications (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) Aviation quality or maintenance background strongly preferred Self-motivated team player with the ability to manage deadlines and collaborate across departments Preferred but not required: Experience with TPS (Test Program Set) development Familiarity with the SETR (Software Engineering Technical Review) process Must be able to pass a background check and education verification Security Requirements If required, must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the contract required level. U.S. Citizenship is required for clearance. Travel Travel will be required. Physical Requirements Work in office or technical writing environments using standard equipment Sit or stand for extended periods and use a computer regularly Travel by car or aircraft, which may involve prolonged sitting Occasionally lift and move up to 20 pounds Perform occasional physical tasks such as bending, stooping, or reaching during field visits or installations PCI Aviation LLC (PCIA) is an equal opportunity employer.
