Job Description

The purpose of this role is to assist in the work of salvation and exaltation by providing individual contributor and intermediate level support for the global media relations division for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Employees at this level work under general supervision and handle moderately complex issues and problems that require solid working knowledge or media and/or public affairs.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to: Performing research, analyzing information, and supporting Church spokespersons. The effective candidate will exhibit mature communication skills, including by phone and in person, including with journalists, writers and producers. This person will be part of a global team that utilizes data/information, memos, documents and reports, and presentations, to assist the Church in coming out of darkness and obscurity. Supporting projects, programs, or processes, including General Conference and news conferences. Assisting lower level employees through training and/or mentorship.

Qualifications

Required:
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent. A significant internship experience is advantageous.
  • Key skills include the ability to communicate professionally in writing and verbally.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and other software, including social media and social media reporting software.
  • Problem solve and resolve moderately complex conflict and problems through sound decision making.
  • Organize and prioritize work and needs.
  • Understand and follow instructions. Interact and work with others in a productive and professional way. Work with discretion, confidentiality, and integrity.
