Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Editor – UGC to lead and elevate the quality of our user-generated content on the platform. In this role, you will shape storytelling standards, mentor emerging creators, and ensure that our UGC library aligns with Pocket FM’s brand, tone, and audience expectations. This is a high-impact, creative leadership position perfect for someone with a sharp editorial eye, strong narrative instincts, and a passion for nurturing new voices in audio storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and refine user-submitted scripts and audio series to ensure storytelling quality, consistency, and adherence to brand standards.
- Collaborate with UGC creators, providing editorial feedback and mentorship to enhance plot structure, character development, and pacing.
- Establish and maintain editorial guidelines and best practices tailored for audio storytelling and regional/localized genres.
- Identify promising creators and content with high potential for platform success, and work cross-functionally to support their development.
- Analyze content performance, leveraging data to inform editorial decisions and optimize engagement.
- Coordinate with content ops, product, and community teams to streamline workflows and support creator success.
- Stay ahead of audio and storytelling trends in global and regional markets to maintain content relevance and innovation.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience in editorial roles in publishing, audio, entertainment, or digital content platforms.
- Strong storytelling instincts with a proven track record of editing or developing narrative fiction (audio, screen, books, or comics).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to give clear, constructive feedback.
- Deep understanding of genre fiction, especially romance, thriller, fantasy, or drama.
- Passion for UGC and empowering emerging creators.
- Familiarity with data-driven content evaluation and content management systems is a plus.
- Audio production knowledge is a bonus, but not required.
