We’re seeking a skilled part‑time Elementary Mandarin Dual Language Immersion Curriculum Writer/Translator who is fluent in both written and spoken Mandarin and English, with experience in translating educational materials from English to Mandarin. This non‑unit hourly role is instrumental in developing engaging, culturally relevant, and academically rigorous curriculum for our dual language immersion program, utilizing your expertise with the Google platform and Canva or Adobe. This remote position offers a flexible schedule, typically averaging 20‑40+ hours per month. Hours may fluctuate based on project and program requirements.

Responsibilities:

Translate educational materials from English to Mandarin accurately and effectively, maintaining the original meaning and pedagogical intent.

Collaborate with educators to ensure the curriculum aligns with learning objectives and immersion best practices.

Utilize the Google platform (Docs, Sheets, Slides) for collaborative work, document creation, and organization.

Design visually appealing and engaging curriculum components using Canva or Adobe.

Required Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED and one of the following:

An AA, AS, AAS (or higher) degree

Three years of translation experience in an educational setting.

Excellent Mandarin and English communication skills (written and verbal).

An understanding of elementary education curriculum and academic standards.

Experience or beginner knowledge of the Google platform (Docs, Sheets, Slides).

Experience or beginner knowledge of Canva or Adobe for creating educational materials.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Flexible schedule and ability to work remotely.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Linguistics, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field.

Extensive experience with curriculum development or instructional design.

Proficiency in using the Google platform (Docs, Sheets, Slides).

Extensive experience with Canva or Adobe for creating educational materials.

Strong understanding of elementary education curriculum and academic standards.
