Senior Vice President of Portfolio Marketing & Commercial Performance Proper Hospitality

is seeking an experienced Senior Vice President of Portfolio Marketing & Commercial Performance to join our corporate team in Los Angeles.

Position Overview This key role will help us sharpen and align everything that drives top‑line revenue. The Sr. Vice President of Portfolio Marketing & Commercial Performance is grounded in marketing, but spans across revenue management and sales to ensure strategies are cohesive, execution is disciplined and results are tracked and optimized. You’ll sit in Santa Monica, work closely with hotel and corporate teams, and travel as needed across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities Marketing Strategy & Demand Generation

Oversee brand and performance marketing strategy across all properties, balancing awareness-building with measurable ROI

Partner with internal and external teams to drive acquisition, conversion, and retention across digital, CRM, PR, and brand channels

Identify and close gaps in funnel performance, messaging, creative, and channel mix

Ensure each hotel has a clear, on‑brand marketing plan that maps to demand periods, revenue goals, and guest segmentation

Commercial Alignment

Work closely with Sales and Revenue leaders to ensure each hotel’s plans ladder up to portfolio targets

Lead quarterly and annual commercial planning sessions to align strategy across pricing, promotions, prospecting, and positioning

Facilitate property‑level commercial syncs to identify issues early, share best practices, and drive accountability

Execution & Project Management

Track execution across key marketing and commercial initiatives—CRM upgrades, upsell programs, web enhancements, new brand campaigns

Audit hotel-level plans and timelines, and ensure consistent follow-through without needing direct authority

Own rollout frameworks to ensure adoption and measurement of major tools, programs, and partnerships

Performance Visibility & Insights

Maintain a single view of performance across marketing, sales, and revenue with clear reporting to executive leadership

Work with analytics and revenue teams to uncover trends and translate them into actionable next steps

Deliver smart, concise commercial updates to leadership and ownership groups

What We’re Looking For

7–10 years in brand marketing, performance marketing, commercial strategy, or revenue-focused leadership, ideally in hospitality or multi‑unit settings

Solid understanding of hotel revenue drivers, digital marketing levers, and distribution dynamics

Comfortable with data and able to synthesize performance from sources like Google Analytics, Opera, SynXis, Duetto, and STR

Skilled at cross‑functional influence—able to rally teams and move initiatives forward without direct authority

Clear, confident communicator who can navigate from property teams to the C‑suite

Willing to travel for site visits up to 2x/month

Salary: $275,000‑300,000 base + bonus
