The Proposal Writer will be responsible for identifying, preparing, and submitting persuasive, compliant proposals to secure government and federal contracts. What you will write proposals for
Janitorial and commercial cleaning services Carpet cleaning and floor care Municipal building and jail cell cleaning contracts Medical waste transportation and disposal contracts Biohazard and disinfection services Waste and debris removal Water, fire, and mold restoration FEMA disaster response and emergency recovery contracts FEMA bid experience
FEMA bid winning experience is considered a major plus, especially in restoration, disaster response, or emergency recovery. Key Responsibilities
Research and track RFP, RFI, and RFQ opportunities from SAM.gov, FEMA, GSA eBuy and state/local procurement systems Analyze solicitation requirements and ensure full compliance in submissions Write, edit, and format proposals tailored to each solicitation scope Develop proposal templates and maintain libraries of company data, resumes, past performance, and forms Collaborate with management to gather technical, pricing, and operational details Maintain SAM.gov, FEMA, and GSA registrations and compliance documentation Manage proposal schedules, submissions, and follow-ups Track outcomes and support continuous improvement of proposal strategies Preferred Qualifications
Three to seven years of proposal writing experience (government, federal, or state contracts) Knowledge of FEMA contracting, emergency response, or restoration-based proposals Understanding of federal procurement processes (FAR, GSA, FEMA, HUD, EPA) Excellent writing, editing, and project management skills Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines Familiarity with restoration, environmental, janitorial, or public works industries is a strong plus Experience using GovWin, BidNet, ARIBA or similar bid tracking platforms Compensation
Base Salary $60,000-$85,000 per year depending on experience and proven federal or FEMA background. Additional performance incentives and bonuses will be discussed in detail during the interview process. Why Join TACT Detroit
