SUMMARY
Teacher Librarian
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works well as a member of an instructional team, including support staff.
- Experience in planning and teaching effective, engaging, and differentiated lessons for students.
- Effectively collaborates with teachers from various departments and co‑teaches skills including but not limited to reading, research, and the inquiry method.
- Creates and promotes a variety of dynamic library programs related to reading, research, technology, etc.
- Experience in collection development, circulation systems, and facility management.
- Promotes and models the ethical use of information and technology.
- Experience in maintaining and strategically developing an equitable library collection aligned with school goals and individual students' interest.
- Supports and actively participates in a professional learning community.
- Positively impacts achievement and differentiates instruction based on the needs of the students by supporting programs designed to increase student achievement.
- Participate collaboratively in teaching teams to design curriculum and assessments, and pursue best teaching practice.
- Utilize PowerSchool for online attendance, online grading book, online posting of assignments, and parental access to attendance and grades.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong knowledge of the content area, teaching methods, learning styles, and educational research related to secondary learners.
- Strong classroom management, communication, organization, and planning skills.
- Demonstrate problem‑solving skills through collaborative work with students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
- Willing to support and actively participate in a professional learning community.
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS
All certifications, licenses, and registrations must be valid and unexpired.
- Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license with Teacher Librarian endorsement.
