Teacher Librarian or Library Manager

Location: Holy Spirit College, Mackay, Diocese of Rockhampton

Employment Status: Full‑time/Term‑time (30hpw / 38hpw) contract

Start Date: 19 January 2026

Closing Date: 3 November 2025

Salary: Pending experience and qualifications (Teacher Scale / School Officer Level 5)

What We Are Looking For

We invite qualified and enthusiastic educators to apply for the role of Teacher Librarian or Library Manager to manage, organise, plan, implement and develop our Library services across Years 7‑12.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, create, promote and evaluate library resources and activities.
  • Lead teacher consultation and curriculum alignment initiatives.
  • Maintain library collections, budgets, and information technology systems.
  • Provide training and support to staff and students in literacy and information literacy.
  • Adhere to Catholic education values and partnership with pastoral teams.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Library & Information Science, Education or related field.
  • Registration with Queensland College of Teachers or current valid Blue Card under the WWC Act and valid Suitability Notice.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary library technologies and instructional design.
  • Experience working in a Catholic educational setting is desirable.
  • Membership in ALIA (Australian Library and Information Association) is desirable.
  • Current work‑right for Australia.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Qualified tertiary education and ability to obtain QCT registration.
  • Australian work rights.
