Support a Fortune 500 Aero-Defense Company as a Technical Writer.

Position Description

As a Technical Scribe, you will be responsible for reviewing, performing, and capturing comments related to drafted Operator, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting procedures for technical accuracy, adequacy, logic, functionality, and MIL-STD compliance improvement.

Skills Preferred

• Experience with creating complex technical documentation for military applications
• In-depth knowledge of military vehicles and systems (e.g., aircraft, ground vehicles, naval vessels)
• Familiarity with military publications and standards MIL-STD-40051/Mil-Hdbk-1222 Military Documentation Experience:
  • Experience working with military documentation, including technical manuals, repair manuals, and training materials
  • Familiarity with military documentation processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with military terminology and acronyms (e.g., DoD, NATO, MIL-STD)

Education Required

• Certifications in technical writing (e.g., CPTC, CWNP) or a related field are highly preferred
• Additional Education: Continuing education or professional development in technical writing, editing, and communication is beneficial
• Familiarity with military standards and regulations (e.g., MIL-STD-40051) is highly preferred
• MOS 91P,91H,91M or 91A Equivalent Experience: Equivalent experience and education may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Relevant Coursework:
  • Coursework in technical writing, editing, and communication is highly preferred
  • Coursework in military studies, defense-related fields, or technical fields (e.g., engineering, computer science) is also beneficial
