Assists with departmental transportation planning-related activities by drafting or performing computer entry work in support of plans, specifications and estimates; or assisting in district/division level review of plans, specifications and estimates (PS & E), and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness: and ensuring compliance with state and federal design guidelines. In a district, provides support to the residencies during their plan preparation process. Employees at this level perform assignments following specific instructions and are subject to frequent review by the immediate supervisor.
Essential Duties
Serves as liaison between district and divisions after submission of plans and related documents to divisions and answers questions and/or helps resolve design problems.
Assists engineers in the review of PS&E submissions to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
Answers inquiries on final PS&E policies and procedures.
Assists in making corrections and/or revisions to plans and related documents.
Assists in PS&E review with other divisions and/or governmental agencies.
Processes PS&E revisions submitted by districts and divisions.
Uses computer applications to enter, revise, store and maintain PS&E support documents and files.
Minimum Qualifications Education High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies.
Experience
2 years of experience in administrative support, design, drafting, engineering support, plan preparation or review, or related experience.
Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent.
Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
