Overview
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced negotiator to lead negotiations of complex cloud services agreements with sophisticated enterprise customers. This AWS Enterprise Negotiator will be part of the AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services Legal team and will partner with the Global Deal Strategy & Programs (GDSP) business to drive customer negotiations, including developing internal strategy, crafting proposals for custom terms to address unique customer needs, drafting bespoke contractual provisions, and collaborating with internal stakeholder groups and leadership to drive open points to closure. Key responsibilities
Develop internal strategy for customer negotiations and craft proposals for custom terms to address unique customer needs. Draft bespoke contractual provisions and collaborate with internal stakeholder groups and leadership to drive open points to closure. Partner with the GDSP business to drive customer negotiations and manage complex cloud services agreements with enterprise customers. Demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations, drive consensus across stakeholders, and maintain poise under pressure on tight timelines with executive focus. Command understanding of complex contractual terms and related technology and business considerations. About the team
You will join a fast-paced, tightly-knit, and diverse legal team that collaborates with business partners and customers. You will participate in team-wide meetings, departmental goals, and collaborative projects, with access to business and legal leadership. Basic qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent 5+ years of multi-million dollar contract negotiation experience 5+ years of drafting and negotiating the legal terms in a broad range of standard commercial contracts Experience with complex commercial/legal concepts, ability to read and interpret legal terminology and reasoning Preferred qualifications
J.D., or Master’s degree Experience independently leading negotiations of complex sell-side B2B enterprise technology contracts involving SaaS, IaaS, AI/ML, GenAI, or cloud computing Familiarity with cloud computing services Experience practicing as legal counsel, either in-house or with a law firm Excellent organizational skills, ability to oversee and manage multiple projects, meet deadlines High degree of independence, initiative, decisiveness and creative thinking Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity Strong business and legal judgment, including in ambiguous situations Ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $146,300/year in our highest geographic market.
