Job Summary:
The Communications Coordinator will be accountable for implementing strategic internal communication programs supporting the Human Resources Manager, special programs and events, and leading key human resources initiatives. This position will work closely with human resources in addition to the marketing and publicity team within the Hospital and Children’s Hospital. They will be responsible for the integrated communication and promotion of divisional programs and services including web and print. The Coordinator collaborates with others to develop and implement programs and communications materials for targeted audiences that enhance awareness and utilization of divisional programs and services, and facilitates the flow of communications throughout the Department of Pediatrics for all faculty, staff, residents, and fellows.
Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the HR Manager, develop content for newsletters, write and edit a broad range of internal content for print, digital, social, and video platforms to communicate the Department’s strategies, accomplishments, and accolades; create original content and news releases for internal and external purposes, including websites, social media, internal publications, and marketing materials.
Develop, maintain, and manage departmental and divisional internal and external websites, coordinating content updates with the MUSC Kids’ team and ensuring accurate provider profiles and bios.
Ensure all information is accurate, maintain databases and evaluations in Success Factors and Interfolio, and manage related documents and reports; assist with Net ID extensions and new requests as needed.
Coordinate posting of staff positions, process internal posting requests, and manage hiring processes, ensuring compliance with recruitment system protocols and onboarding requirements.
Write articles and case studies highlighting research activities, collaborate with research administrators to create newsletters and support research events, and assist in publicity for DCRI activities.
Facilitate onboarding for volunteers and unpaid individuals, process dual employment requests with Fellowship Coordinators, and manage faculty fellows documentation.
Support Human Resources on special projects and travel as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and four years relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services; or a bachelor’s degree and two years experience in the same fields.
Physical Requirements:
Upright, seated, and mobile work; ability to lift up to 15 lbs.; vision, hearing, and balance as described in detail.
