Preferred Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in at least 6 hours as an undergraduate student with a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
- Must be familiar with workshop safety procedures.
- Must be comfortable speaking with others to answer questions, provide instructions, and explain concepts.
- Must have experience with jewelry construction and design.
- Should be comfortable with basic jewelry fabrication techniques and tools, including soldering with a torch, correctly mixing and using bench chemicals and polishing compounds, shaping metal with a flex-shaft (Dremel) and with hand tools, and polishing both by hand and using a buffer.
- Experience with stonework, including use of a lapidary combination unit and setting stones, is preferable.
- Experience with ceramic work is a major plus.
