We are seeking an experienced Design Technician in the Concord, NC area. In this role, you will create detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for concrete pipe and precast products, collaborating with engineering, production, and project teams to ensure designs meet customer specifications, industry standards, and manufacturing capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed CAD drawings and models for concrete pipe and precast products based on project requirements.
- Interpret project plans, specifications, and codes to produce accurate and functional designs.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and clients to clarify design needs and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in preparing bills of materials and other technical documentation.
- Ensure all designs adhere to company standards, industry regulations, and safety requirements.
- Review and revise designs to incorporate feedback or changes as needed.
- Support the production team with technical guidance and resolve design-related issues during manufacturing.
- Maintain accurate records of design files and project documentation.
- Stay updated on advancements in design software, tools, and industry trends.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities / Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
- Working knowledge of ERP/Inventory Control Software, preferably Titan.
- Understanding of precast concrete design, production methods, and industry standards.
Education and Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field.
- Must reside in the continental U.S.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
Typical Schedule and Conditions
Typical Schedule: Work is generally performed Monday–Friday, 40+ hours per week depending on workload and production demands.
Typical Physical Demands: Physical mobility, including standing, sitting, walking, climbing, reaching, bending/stooping, lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions: Office work in clean, climate-controlled areas with fluorescent lighting. PPE is required in all production and loading areas.
