About the role

As a

Senior Quality Engineer with UI and API Automation , you will make an impact by driving automation strategy and execution across UI and API testing, ensuring high-quality deliverables in agile environments. You will be a valued member of the

Quality Engineering & Assurance

team and work collaboratively with offshore and onsite teams, product managers, and business stakeholders.

In this role, you will:

Coordinate testing efforts across onsite and offshore teams

Implement robust automation frameworks for UI and API testing

Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test data for user stories

Script and execute automation tests using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, and REST Assured

What you need to have to be considered:

6 to 9 years of experience in Quality Engineering and Assurance

4+ years of hands‑on automation experience with UI applications and API services

Mandatory skills:

Strong hands‑on experience with

Core Java, Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, Gradle, REST Assured, Playwright

Working experience with

CI/CD tools

Experience with Agile methodologies and test management tools like JIRA, Quality Center, or ALM

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Proven ability to lead and coordinate distributed teams and client communications

These will help you stand out:

Experience with Cypress and other modern automation tools

Familiarity with

Karate Framework

(optional)

Ability to set up and scale automation frameworks from scratch

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

Experience working in fast‑paced agile environments

Demonstrated leadership in managing cross‑functional teams

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between [$53,477– $92,500] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
