About Us
The Kopp Foundation for Diabetes (KFD) is a youth-led nonprofit dedicated to advancing solutions for Type 1 Diabetes through innovation, education, and advocacy. We are seeking a part-time specialist to support our fundraising and grant development efforts, helping us grow programs and expand our impact.
Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with experience in fundraising, grant writing, and campaign development. This role will focus on identifying, writing, and submitting grant applications, as well as building and managing online and peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns. The ideal candidate is passionate about healthcare and diabetes-related issues, and skilled at turning ideas into funding opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify relevant grant opportunities (foundation, corporate, and government).
- Write compelling grant proposals, applications, and reports.
- Develop and manage online fundraising campaigns (e.g., GivingTuesday, Diabetes Awareness Month).
- Support peer-to-peer fundraising by engaging volunteers and ambassadors.
- Track and report fundraising metrics, ensuring accountability and transparency.
- Collaborate with the executive team and communications lead on campaign messaging and donor engagement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in grant writing with successful awards preferred.
- Experience running online fundraising and peer-to-peer campaigns.
- Familiarity with fundraising platforms (e.g., GiveButter, Classy, GoFundMe Charity) and grant databases (e.g., Foundation Directory, GrantStation).
- Strong writing, research, and organizational skills.
- Passion for healthcare and/or diabetes-related causes.
- Ability to work independently in a part-time, flexible role.
Commitment & Compensation
- Part-time, remote position: 10–15 hours per week
- Compensation commensurate with experience
