Staff Product Designer
role at
Zip Security .
Enterprise cybersecurity is broken. Current annual cybersecurity spending is roughly $150B, with most enterprises spending heavily to deploy, manage, and configure hundreds of different tools for marginal security benefit. At Zip, our goal is to build software that makes enterprise cybersecurity reasonable – to reduce bloat by bundling and configuring opinionated security tooling, synchronizing everything from device management to application security under one central pane of glass.
We’re at the cutting edge of security, working with some of the world’s most important companies to effortlessly secure their people, software, and data. With new government efforts to publish data on the global security risk landscape, there’s a unique opportunity to first in the market properly integrate and build a full‑stack, opinionated, enterprise security company.
Values
We want our employees to learn, grow, and have career satisfaction.
We are a high‑autonomy, high‑trust organization that prioritizes thoughtful communication. No one likes being micromanaged; we value autonomy and trust employees to get the job done while providing support.
We value transparency, equity, and empathy. Honest, empathetic feedback is kind and helps everyone grow.
We want to move fast and be flexible but not break things. As a startup, we balance speed with intentional, thoughtful software building.
We value balance between work/life and building the right product in a data‑driven way.
We assume best intentions – we face hard problems together and believe in the good intentions of coworkers.
About the Role As a Product Designer, you will design new security and IT workflows from the ground up and identify and redesign areas where our user experience can be improved across our platform. We are looking for a design leader with a strong product sense who can guide the overall vision to create a more user‑friendly, cohesive experience in Zip. This position is hybrid, with flexible in‑person days in our New York City office.
What You’ll Do
Design products and features that break down hard security and IT problems into intuitive, beautiful user experiences.
Run projects end to end from outlining the product strategy, to creating design explorations, mocking up polished final designs, and working with engineers to ship the vision.
Prototype your designs and run user testing, working closely with design partners and users to design the right thing.
Identify friction and gaps in our UX to propose and execute redesigns or refreshes to improve the user‑friendliness of our platform.
Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to understand each user persona’s needs, prioritize the product roadmap, and craft user stories in our marketing channels.
We’d Love to Hear from You if
You have 5‑7+ years of experience designing enterprise products and running projects independently end to end.
You are excited to understand complex technical problems, translate them to user stories, and tackle them with a user‑centric design process.
You are not attached to any precedents and are willing to iterate, adapt, or even overhaul existing flows.
You have strong product‑thinking skills and an intuition for accessible mental models and flows.
You move quickly and intentionally, bias toward impact, and can advocate for building the smallest impactful thing.
You have experience mentoring junior designers and providing consistent design feedback.
