Position Overview The Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Marketing and is responsible for managing the proposal process, overseeing marketing team operations, and guiding the creation of high‑quality marketing materials that support strategic business development goals. The Marketing Manager helps shape the team’s efforts through mentoring junior staff and driving continuous improvements in marketing strategies, content, and design. This individual works closely with pursuit teams and senior leadership to ensure cohesive messaging and efficient proposal execution. Responsibilities Manage and oversee the development of complex RFQ, RFP, and Bid submissions, including leading strategy sessions and managing timelines Provide guidance and mentorship to Marketing Coordinators and Senior Marketing Coordinators, ensuring quality across all submissions Lead the planning, design, and development of client‑facing presentations and pursuit materials Oversee the creation and maintenance of marketing assets including project descriptions, resumes, firm overviews, brochures, and digital collateral Collaborate with Business Development and Operations to align marketing efforts with strategic growth initiatives Maintain brand consistency across proposals, social media, advertisements, and company materials Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency, quality, and scalability of marketing operations Support external communications including website updates, blogs, press releases, and digital content Coordinate with outside vendors (print, creative agencies, photographers) as needed Perform other related duties as assigned Skills And Abilities Experience managing deadlines, people, and creative processes Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills Strategic thinking with the ability to analyze project opportunities and tailor messaging accordingly Ability to mentor, coach, and develop staff High attention to detail and quality standards Ability to juggle multiple high‑priority initiatives across departments Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (especially InDesign) and Microsoft Office Preferred but not required: Working knowledge of marketing tools (CRM, email marketing platforms, CMS) a plus Familiarity of the construction and A/E/C industry marketing environment Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent marketing experience in the construction industry) 6‑9 years of experience in marketing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or project management capacity, preferably in the construction, architecture, or engineering industry Why Higley Construction Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) – 100% Employee‑Owned 25 days of Paid Time Off 9 Paid Holidays Health, Dental & Vision Insurance Health/Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts 401(k) Contributions/Match Life Insurance/AD&D Employee Assistance Program Volunteer Time Off & Gift Match Program Paid Birthday Leave Paid Family Leave Short & Long Term Disability Years of Service Awards $1,500 Referral Bonus Capability for up to 16 hours / week of remote work Casual Friday Policy Cell Phone Reimbursement Apparel Allowance Drug and Alcohol Screening Requirement As part of your employment with Higley Construction, an initial pre‑employment drug and alcohol test is required. Physical Activities This role may require climbing ladders and scaffolding, riding in mobile elevated work platforms up to 80 feet, and entering confined or tight spaces. It involves remaining in a stationary position—standing or sitting—for extended periods, frequent movement between tasks, and lifting or adjusting objects weighing 30 to 50 pounds. Use of hands and arms to handle tools, equipment, and materials is frequent, and tasks may involve operating spray test equipment, construction site tools, power tools, machinery, and heavy equipment. Employees must be able to wear fall protection gear and respiratory protection. Environmental Conditions Work may take place in a variety of environmental conditions, including exposure to high and low temperatures, inclement weather such as rain, wind, and snow, and getting wet during specific tasks. The role may also involve working in dusty environments, areas with extreme noise, poor ventilation, and small or enclosed spaces.
