Essential Functions
- Adapt classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher or specialist as needed to support classroom objectives.
- Assist students, teachers, and staff in implementing instruction and IEPs.
- Attend meetings and trainings (e.g., first aid, CPR, de‑escalation) to acquire and convey information related to job functions.
- Develop instruction for students in a variety of activities for evaluation of IEP objectives and student success.
- Implement behavioral plans designed by the IEP team for students with behavioral disorders or other special conditions.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times following HIPAA, FERPA, IEP requirements.
- Maintain instructional materials and electronic files for mandatory records.
- Monitor students during assigned periods across school environments to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
- Observe and collect data to support progress toward individual student goals.
- Provide clerical and classroom assistance (data entry, correspondence, copying, filing) to document progress.
- Supervise and encourage students in school settings with peers for social communication skill development.
- Work under both direct and indirect supervision using standardized routines to promote a safe learning environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned; may serve as a 1:1 paraeducator.

- Perform other related duties as assigned, including possible 1:1 paraeducator responsibilities.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities – Safety practices, standard office equipment, basic math, written procedures, infrastructure instructions, conflict resolution, de‑escalation strategies, teamwork, confidentiality, data collection.
- Education – Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent; Preferred: paraeducator certificate program. Must meet at least one: paraPro assessment passing score, associate degree, or 72 quarter credits at 100 level.
- Experience – Desired: Relevant job experience.
- Certifications – CPR/First Aid, valid Washington State driver’s license, de‑escalation and restraint training, ongoing paraeducator certification.
- Testing – Job-Related Skills Proficiency Test.
Clearances & Background Checks
- Washington State Patrol and FBI fingerprint background clearance.
- Proof of identity and employment authorization required.
