Job Summary The Associate Director, Paid Social Media is responsible for delivering excellence across all scoped Social Media Communications work for clients. This role leads strategic thinking, campaign execution, and team development while integrating modern tools and technologies to enhance performance and productivity. This individual also represents the Paid Social team's point of view with internal stakeholders and clients and contributes to agency thought leadership and innovation. This position typically requires 8+ years of experience.

Responsibilities Strategic Recommendations

Gather appropriate background from planners and clients to inform strategic recommendations.

Drive innovative, insight-led ideas aligned to overarching strategy and client goals.

Collaborate with other buying and channel teams to find process efficiencies and amplify campaign impact.

Provide clear performance expectations and strategic rationale at the recommendation stage.

Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams and accounts.

Act as a strategic sounding board for strategists and specialists needing support.

Stay up to date on emerging trends in the paid social space, including AI-driven capabilities.

Campaign Execution & Management

Oversee the setup, launch, and management of advanced paid social campaigns across platforms.

Ensure campaigns are executed on time and accurately, maintaining alignment with client objectives.

Maintain organized records of campaign activity, changes, and key decisions.

Partner closely with Ad Operations for pixel implementation, tagging, and data integrity.

Lead the use of AI-enabled features (e.g., automated placements, audience expansion) and leverage workflow tools like ChatGPT or Copilot to enhance campaign setup, QA, and documentation.

Deliver performance-driving optimizations proactively.

Manage stakeholder expectations when performance trends vary from projections.

Reporting & Insights

Analyze campaign data and translate performance trends into clear, actionable insights.

Recommend optimizations based on performance data, audience insights, and creative testing.

Oversee platform and custom reporting setup and delivery using partner as well as platform-native dashboards.

Ensure QA and consistency in reporting through documentation and use of automation where applicable.

Use emerging technologies to enhance speed and clarity of reporting deliverables, including AI-based summaries and QA processes.

Communication (Internal/Client)

Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and client stakeholders.

Ensure timely, proactive communication and alignment on key initiatives.

Present paid social strategies, results, and POVs within integrated planning discussions.

Guide and refine presentation development and delivery for team members.

Manage vendor relationships and serve as a point of contact for platform partners.

Communicate complex information clearly, incorporating supporting data and visualizations where necessary.

Leadership & Training

Demonstrate leadership through expertise, solution-oriented thinking, and team stewardship.

Manage assigned client accounts with high-quality output and strategic integrity.

Train and mentor junior and mid-level employees across campaign management, platform capabilities, communication, and workflow.

Drive clarity around task delegation and foster an inclusive and growth-oriented team culture.

Collaborate with Directors to manage team bandwidth, resourcing, and performance.

Use AI and collaboration tools to support documentation, content drafting, meeting action items, and team training initiatives.

Set an example for professional excellence and represent Paid Social leadership across the agency.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in paid social media planning, buying, and team leadership.

Proven expertise in executing and optimizing campaigns across major platforms (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, X, etc.).

Strong understanding of social media ad operations, tagging infrastructure, and platform data requirements.

Experience using automation and AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Smart Campaigns) to support workflow and performance.

Strong storytelling and analytical skills; ability to translate complex data into clear client narratives.

Effective communicator with a track record of client-facing experience.

Prior agency experience preferred, with the ability to manage multiple accounts across industries.

Special Position Requirements

This position is preferred to be local in the Dallas, TX area, but we are open to considering remote employees. Local and remote employees will be expected to travel for internal or client meetings up to 20% of the time.
