R-16669Flowserve is seeking a Director of Communications in Dallas, TX to lead all internal and external communications strategies and initiatives across its global operations.The Director of Communications will develop a world-class communications strategy and plan for Flowserve, directly managing internal and external communications activities that promote, enhance, and protect the organization’s brand reputation. They will be responsible for the development, integration, and implementation of a broad range of communications activities relative to the strategic direction and positioning of the organization and its product brands. This individual will be an ambassador for the organization and will need to build relationships with the media, as well as other key stakeholders (e.g., investors, analysts, employees, policymakers).**Key Responsibilities**The Director of Corporate Communications is responsible for internal and external communications including:* Communications Strategy: Develop and implement an overarching communications strategy that is aligned with corporate objectives, and ensuring that it is integrated and consistently articulated to all of the organization’s stakeholders (including leadership, employees, media, industry leaders/influencers, investors, community leaders and the public).* Team Management / Leadership: Lead and optimize the efforts of an efficient team of sophisticated communicators, and develop the team to operate well in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate capabilities needed to manage communication, both internally and externally, for multiple stakeholders across multiple businesses. Manage the day-to-day operations of the team, with the ability to drive flawless execution, pivot as needed, and provide leadership as a “player/coach.”* External Communications and Media Relations: Create and implement a proactive reputation management and press relations program to articulate Flowserve’s business strategy and aspirations to international, national, business, political, regional and trade outlets. Maintain close relationships with key journalists and implement a highly engaged and differentiated media relations program. Manage the company's owned channels and content, including website.* Employee Communications: Build and manage a strategic employee communications plan for Flowserve to educate, align and engage internal stakeholders around Flowserve’s purpose, mission, and values. Manage a proactive strategy for the company intranet.* Public Affairs / Community Relations: Collaborate with the legal team and business leadership to determine organizational advocacy, community engagement and public affairs priorities based on impact to and understanding of the company's business operations, as well as to provide and advise on analyses/impact of global trends, and potential future scenarios.**Experience and Professional Qualifications**The Director of Communications will have 12-15+ years of progressively increasing experience planning and executing communications strategies. The ideal candidate must have a track record of representing complex, large-scale organizations and translating business results for key audiences. This is a position that will operate at the highest levels of the company, and therefore requires the requisite business and communications skills to be credible with the executive team. Executive presence to effectively partner with senior management is critical.
Additional qualifications include:* Strategic communications experience with a demonstrated track record of success in a fast-paced environment and with leadership experience in both public and internal affairs strategy development and implementation.* Ability to work in a team-oriented, complex and matrixed environment with diverse businesses objectives.* Experience in reputation management/crisis communications.* Senior management experience working with confidential and high-profile matters.* Ability to analyze data, draw valid conclusions, problem solve and understand complex situations.* Demonstrated experience dealing effectively with media, elected officials, board members, public/private employers, providers and staff.* Outstanding public speaking and interpersonal communication skills with a knowledge of industry and general business trends.**Skills and Competencies*** Good leadership and business acumen, with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, especially in managing business relationships.* Excellent oral and written communications skills, especially the ability to write clearly and quickly.* Strong analytical, planning, problem-solving and decision-making skills.* High integrity and accountability.* Strong presentation skills.
