Organization Summary Mission: The Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA) is a collaborative network, promoting energy efficiency to optimize energy generation, reduce consumption, create jobs and decrease carbon emissions in all Midwest communities.

Position Summary The Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA) seeks a collaborative and creative professional to lead the growth and engagement of our membership community and advance MEEA’s marketing and communications efforts. This position is ideal for someone who’s excited to help shape how MEEA connects with members and positions itself as a trusted leader in energy efficiency across the Midwest.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategy & Engagement, the Membership & Marketing Manager will oversee day-to-day operations of MEEA’s membership and marketing programs while driving new ideas to strengthen member value, visibility, and impact.

Key Responsibilities Membership Growth & Engagement

Manage MEEA’s day-to-day membership functions, including member communications, dues invoicing, and engagement programming.

Build and maintain strong, responsive relationships with members, ensuring MEEA remains a valued and relevant partner.

Develop and implement creative strategies to attract new members, strengthen retention, and expand member participation.

Coordinate and support MEEA’s membership committee and help facilitate other organizational committees and working groups.

Partner with staff across departments to identify and promote opportunities for member collaboration and input.

Marketing & Communications

Manage MEEA’s marketing strategy to strengthen brand visibility and position MEEA as a regional thought leader in energy efficiency.

Oversee content development and production for MEEA communications, including the MEEA Minute newsletter, website, brochures, and event materials.

Maintain and evolve MEEA’s website, with support from staff web team, and social media presence (LinkedIn and MEEA blog), ensuring content is timely, consistent, and engaging.

Work collaboratively across teams to develop campaigns and materials that highlight MEEA’s impact, member successes, and industry insights.

Support creative storytelling and messaging that inspire engagement among members, partners, and the broader energy community.

Events & Programs

Serve as a member of the core team responsible for MEEA’s annual Midwest Energy Solutions Conference and the Inspiring Efficiency Awards.

Support planning and promotion of webinars and other events to ensure consistent branding and high-quality content.

Lead planning and coordination of membership cultivation activities, including MEEA’s Annual Membership Meeting and other engagement events.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

5 years of professional experience in membership, marketing, communications, or related fields.

Strong writing, editing, and interpersonal communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Publisher; Adobe design software; Canva; LinkedIn; Asana or similar project management software

Familiarity with Google Analytics

Experience managing multiple projects, with strong attention to detail and deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively about member engagement and organizational storytelling.

Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Compensation The Manager, Membership & Marketing position starts within an annual salary range of $70,000-$91,000. Compensation for a selected candidate will be commensurate with experience. MEEA offers a competitive employment benefits package that includes:

10 days of annual leave in the first year, 8 days of sick/personal leave, 9 holidays and 3 floating holidays
